DIY – WET WIPES

With the summer heat, it’s great carrying around baby wipes to freshen up – but did you know many are made with plastic products like polyester and are not biodegradable? And of course, there are eco ones you can buy that are, but I love the idea of making your own and having even less waste!

I saw a post Laura shared with reusable wet wipes she did herself and asked if she would give us the instructions. Laura is a 26 year old single mamma from Wales that is all about the eco life, and gets it done while on a budget. She shares all kinds of fun stuff like DIY’s and tips on her instagram.

Says Laura,

“I started making my own wet wipes about three years ago as I found it easier because I was using reusable nappies anyway and then I adapted it for other things like multipurpose cleaning wipes, etc.

There are millions of different recipes for wet wipe solution but this is the one I keep going back to.

1. Get your choice of material (I use fleece as I find it soft on the skin), cotton or micro fibre cloths work well too.

2. Make a cup of camomile tea and let it brew for 5-10mins.

3. Add 3 drops of avocado oil (olive oil is fine) and 3 drops of essential oil if you want a nice smell.

4. Place material in container of choice and pour the mixture over.”
